Torrent
is not an
album in the
conventional
sense: it’s
an ongoing
project.
Call
Torrent
a
conversation
between
artist and
audience, as
it invites
listeners to
follow
Dailey on
his journey
as an
artist, to
witness how
he writes
and records
songs, to be
part of his
creative
process.
Throughout
2009, Dailey
will be
digitally
releasing
EPs every
three
months, each
collecting
songs that
he’s
recently
written and
recorded and
that are
thematically
linked.
After
two EPs are
completed,
they will
then be
paired as
physical
copies,
complete
with bonus
tracks and
presented in
CODE
(CODE),
a
high-resolution
audio
standard
pioneered by
multiple
Grammy-winning
producer T
Bone
Burnett.
Torrent,
Volumes 1 &
2,
is the first
physical
release in
the series,
pairing the
Fashion Of
Distraction
and
By The Blue
Hills
EPs.
The
songs
feature
several
notable
guest
musicians,
including
Roger
McGuinn (The
Byrds),
Tanya
Donelly
(Belly,
Throwing
Muses),
Elliott
Easton (The
Cars), Tim
Brennan
(Dropkick
Murphys) and
Kay Hanley
(Letters to
Cleo).
